It's Saturday evening and I've been sick so I haven't gotten much done. Every time I bend over I have a coughing fit already after 5 days of this I can barely breathe my ribs and abdomen hurt so bad.
Megan is in first grade and doing well she even brought home all greens from school. Green is perfect, yellow means they needed a reminder or two to pay attention, stop talking be on task etc... , blue means you had several reminders or did something naughty, orange means big trouble and red gets you sent to the principals office. She usually varies between yellow and green with more greens than yellows but never all greens before of course it's early in the year too. She's never gotten anything below a yellow. She was telling me she had no friends but I know that's not true. She went late one day because I was sick and overslept, when I dropped her off they were outside for morning break and I overheard several girls as I was leaving running to her saying "I'm so glad Megan's here! Come on Megan's here!"
Andrew has a girlfriend. Cory, short for Corina. He's doing fine in classes not great but not bad he's averaging A's, B's and C's. He's losing weight and working out. Was going to play football but the heat was too much. Record breaking heat here in AZ. Now he's decided to return to his first love soccer and play that.
James is still looking for a job. We keep suggesting the military but he is waiting for that magical high paying no hours job that won't interfere with his nightlife. Like that's going to happen. Oh having a 19 year old is fun.
Ralph isn't doing well at all. Besides hating his job with a passion, his health is declining. He's hooked up to a c-pap machine at night for the apnea, is ignoring his kidney disease and diabetes. Now they found out he's anemic and is losing weight without trying. So he goes in for testing on that now. He has a growth on his foot too a tumor of some kind he wont' even go have checked out he's so discouraged with his health. I worry about him every minute of every day.
I love my job. It's the bright spot in our working lives. I am the lead teacher of the 3 &4 year olds. My highlight of the week was when a parent said her daughter who is 3, made her cry when she recited the Pledge of Allegiance to her. We are learning the Lord's Prayer also and they are making good headway on that. I have one student who makes me batty he's such an airhead but often he makes me laugh in exasperation too. I remember my mom saying I'd lose my head if it wasn't attached to my body well this child would lose everything head, clothes, way, you name it. He's a sweet boy though.
Well this is a start I guess. Be patient I've never done this before.
